The latest, greatest (and some re-hashed) techniques to improve your penis size. Or large schlong 101.

 I keep being asked about penis size by men who wonder whether there is a "real life, do-it yourself" method for enlarging your johnson. I was reviewing a list of all the known theories on penis size for my book about premature ejaculation, increasing your size and generally improving your performance that I needed to write for an upcoming  presentation I have which I affectionately call "Schlong Tips." 

Unfortunately there isn't loads of science about how to improve the size documented, peer reviewed and written up in reputable science journals. So I have to use a combination of popular literature, anecdotal evidence from my patients and 10 years of radio call in guys, along with stories swaped by doctors and sex therapists.  My audio book on penis enlargement that can be downloaded has a more extensive detailed discussion of this subject, along with my private conversation with the urologist I used to film my series in Toronto. 

Anyway, here is a summary of the few that I found most interesting and are the most plausible, however, I'm just passing on the information and not commenting on the effectiveness. As I don't have a penis (and I'm delighted with the one I get to borrow) I haven't tried any of them out.

1. Stretch method. -"Pioneer anthropologist Margaret Mead reported that Polynesian males stretch their penises with a woven device that wraps around the end and has weights on the other.   Physiologically the effect of hanging a heavy weight from the penis encourages a relaxation of the suspensory ligament, which can ultimately externalize an additional inch or so of the crura- or penile root. 

2. Foreskin restoration - These devices are basically a tube, weights, and a loop that hangs around the foreskin, and stretches it, causes the pleasant side effect of penile enlargement. This is similar to the method to essentially "yank" on the end of the penis (most body parts are enlarged through use, stretching, and encouragement). Apparently repeated and deliberate pulling of the penis will help relax the suspensory ligament over time.

3. Vacuum pumping - Think ofa milking machine.  one that applies negative pressure around the penis, and blood is forced into the organ which then becomes distended and turgid. The literature claims it stretches out the tissues and gives the penis " a workout". Details that diligently and persistently vacuum pumping your penis (a minimum of 6 months with a high quality medical pump) will add close to an inch to both the length and width of your member. This has the added benefit of improving erections in older men who have been having difficulties.

  My sweetie thinks I'm a bit cracked. No more than usual, but since I am reading everything I can get my hands on about women and hormones, I've taken to making jars of sprouts all over the kitchen. The more I understand both medically, clinically and personally about estrogen receptors and phytoestrogen, the better I'm eating.  And sprouts are one of the best thing you can eat to fight estrogen dominance, keep your weight down and your sex drive high. So I now sprout with the best of them.

Here's why it is important to me, and it may be relevant to a woman in your life. Belly fat is a source of estrogen. Lots of belly fat means you are sluggish, cuddly, lots of vaginal secretions,sleep alot, have irregular periods, and become naturally less sexual and sexy. Since I am a woman with curves (and there have been times when I've had lots of curves and belly fat), this is my problem. It may be yours as well. I'm combating the problem with lots of the aforementioned sprouts, as much exercise as I can fit in, and pomegranate juice.

Pomegranate seeds have been used in Middle Eastern countries to treat menopause and hormonal issues for milleniums. Pomegranate contains compounds like punicalagin, antioxidants, flavonoids, and coumestrol.  But it is the only plant currently known to contain estrone. Pomegranate's medicinal ingredients alter the way estrogen receptor cells respomd to the body's own estrogen, which is important for North American women who are overloaded with estrogen from their environment. So, while I manage my body, my crazy hormones, and my life I take a moment to drink some Pom and eat some seeds. All I can say is that I feel good and stay sexy. Sex Drive, sugar cravings, hormones and blood PH

I struggle to resist the call of chocolate on a daily basis. Most days it is a continuous battle (during the PMS days I generally lose the war). It has only been through an understanding of my hormones (as it relates to sexual desire) in both myself and my patients that allowed me to pull through of the crazy spiral of hormonal fluctuations. I was at Walmart last week and standing in front of the dark chocolate choosing my particular poison. I looked around and saw five other women doing the same thing. We all hear the  call of mood management. Researchers at the University of Edinburgh are documenting what women have always understood innately.

Chocolate puts us in the mood.

I tell men that the two greatest pantieremovers out there are red wine and dark chocolate. They bump up our dopamine levels move the serotonin to where it needs to be. It also affects our blood PH and starts cranking up the furnace. Unfortunately, those medicinal  time's start the cravings as we become more acidic. And so the cycle begins again.  And men wonder why we get crazy. I'm learning a great deal more about how our body PH can affect cravings, sex drive and mood.  

Here is my understanding of it in a nutshell.

Your blood is naturally a PH of 7.3. An optimum range is between 6.2 and 7.4 depending on the time of day. You can test it by licking or peeing on the little PH strips they sell at the health store for about $12. My kids always get a kick out of watching the paper go from orange to yellow to green or purple.  You need a balance of alkaline and acid foods (usually 75% alkaline and 25% acid). If you are too acidic it causes you to get agitated, your energy is good, but it causes a "burn out" as aging is accelerated and minerals from your bones are leeched out to "cool the fire". It is then that you may be craving sugar.

If you are too alkaosis (between 7.5 and 8) you may be sluggish and lumpy.  Dramatically fluctuating PH level results in mood swings and the "crazy" hormonal behavior  women (and those who love them) understand.

So, here is what I do to manage the acidic levels. I drink  a teaspoon of chlorophyll (green plant juice) or lemon juice (it may seem acidic but the body processes it as an alkaline food), and take a couple more Omega 3 fish oil capsules. It keeps me feeling sexy, manages my blood sugar and keeps those happy feelings flowing. I'm up to 8 or so Omega 3's (along with megamagnesium, and Vitamin B6), and some dark chocolate daily to keep my moods level, the weight under control, and my sex drive exactly where I want it. High.

What the International Arrival's gate at the airport says about love

  I was waiting for my Dad last week at the arrivals gate at the airport. He was flying back from Europe and I had to stand outside the international arrivals for a good hour while he made his way through customs. I think everyone should people watch at the airport regularly. I left thinking about the people I saw there, not knowing more about them but what their body language told, but the connections have resonated with me all week.

I had forgotten how moving reunions could be. There were little kids with homemade signs and balloons, and families of all sizes and descriptions hugging and jumping around in the middle of the concourse. A couple of reunions were particularly noteworthy. One was a very elderly woman being pushed in a wheelchair out of the gate by the flight attendant. A young couple with a brand new baby was waiting for her. The young woman hugged her hard and reached down and gave her the baby to hold, telling her "to meet her new great-grandchild". The elderly woman, and then the young woman started to cry. I saw a look of absolute joy on the older woman's face with tears running down her wrinkled cheeks as she looked down on the very new baby.

The other, was a tall man in his early 20's with a backpack who only had eyes for the short brunette who raced through the crowd to find him. They stood, oblivious to everything around them holding each other. They were so into each other that I had to gentle mentioned that they were about to be run over by a guy pushing a stack of luggage carts. She never let go of his hand, and she was so in love that she glowed. Those kind of demonstrations of love are a gift to everyone else around them. Well worth the $15 in parking fees.
